Help me save an Eel

I have to admit that I've been a bit jealous of people who get really sweet deals on stuff, it never seems to happen to me, until now.

In the next day or so, I'm going to purchase a used 120gallon tank, stand, lights, sump, skimmer (more on that later), etc.

The problem is, it is currently the home of "Jake, the snake", a large Snowflake eel. Jake's owner is trying to convince me that he will not harm my fish. (I intend to move the inhabitants of my 75 gallon into the larger home) I don't buy it, but I don't know what to do with him. I've talked to one store who wasn't interested and I'll try more tomorrow. I'd hate to release him into the Atlantic and him not survive. It's been less than a day, but it's starting to look like a donation to the Miami SeaAquarium. Any suggestions? Am I off base not wanting this thing in my tank ?

PLEASE DO NOT RELEASE INTO THE WILD ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

That is the primary reason why Florida is losing most of its fauna to "unwanted pets" who are left by the roadside or in drainage ditches. If aquarium owners would like to stay unregulated, we should act responsibly. Besides, a public aquarium or Sea World will likely be very grateful for such a nice donation.

Believe me, I don't want to. I've only considered it as a last resort before outright killing him.

I will do everything to save him first, trust me. I drove some snails to the beach (where I got them) one day rather than kill them...

Thanks Geedoug, I just did that very thing.

I've been turned down by the fish store closest to my house, and by eTropicals. But I'm going to keep trying...

Geedoug,
Just realized that was your 666th post, creepy...

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks, within 24 hours I've managed to find Jake a new home with "AquaMan" on ReefCentral.
