Help me help my Rics
These guys aren't doing so well they look really bad because they spent a few weeks in the sump of the big tank.
The purple ones have never done well for me they are in the 5.5 with 32w of PC light
What do they need - should they be in the 24g 150w MH or in the 95 PC's again I can get them further from the light if thats what they need
This one bleached and shrank in the sump but looks to be getting a little color back this one always did fine in the nano previously

I had the same problem with my purples. They grew like weeds, then fell off and eventually disappeared.
They weren't moved during the entire time, so I was at a loss on what happened.
Sorry I can't help Kelli, but I'd like to tag along nonetheless.

I'm hoping Scruffy chimes in he gave them to me but I don't know how much light they were getting when he had them for reference they are about the size of a dime - the orange is about quarter sized

I had some green ones on the same rock with the purples. They continue to do well to this day.
It's beyond my tiny brain to figure out what happened.

Kelli - as yoiu might remember I have not had the best luck with these buggers BUT... what I have read/learnned is that they most likely lost color while in the sump... any of those lights should help them regain color... they really can be kept in everything from PC to MH.... top to bottom of tank... I would leave it and try to feed it mysids or something.

Hey Kelli,
I have a couple rocks of rics in the lower part of my 260, at the corners and away from the light. They get light, but a lot of it is indirect since my tank is deep. The flow is low and they still maintain their color and continue to multiply well. I have noticed that (logically) they do better the higher they are to my 250s.
One thing I can tell you from experience, my rics seemed to lay dormant for a while during environment changes and then one day they explode. It is normally a month or two before they adapt and respond accordingly. This goes for when I frag the rock too.

From looking at the pics the purple ones look plenty helthy,.. just not open all the way,.. if you think they are shrinking I would move them a little closer to the light if possible. If there getting more light now then they were in the sump then I would just leave them alone for now and see how they do.
The green one is definitally bleached, this could be from stress or lack of light, both the rics I got from IL looked like that at first, one worse than the other. After a couple weeks in Q they got some color back, and when I moved them into the 50G they eventually really started to blow up and be brightly colored.
I'm told Rics can be fed, though I've never tried myself.
I do know rics are really touchy,.. that's why I haven't put one from my 50G in my Nano yet. They tend to get very upset about changes, and take a while to be happy and open up again.

Kelli I had mine in the big tank with MH and they never did well. I recently moved them to the 12g nano with 48w pc and they are doing great. The only other difference the nano provides is the amount of flow where they are sitting in. It is much higher in the nano.

The top image looks like ricordia florida, but I can't tell for sure on the second image.
Yuma seems to prefer high intensity light while florida loses color richness with high intensity light. This is not to say that florida will not do well or even multiply, just that the color will not be as vibrant. Depending on how much light "punch" you have, you may want to move them down in the tank.
I have kept them under compact fluorescent, VHO & MH lighting at varying depths.
As for feeding, try feeding with DTs.
