Help me chose a heater

Ok i have a 3g nano that i need another heater. right now it has a 7.5 watt heater and it only keeps it at max 74F during the day and about 68-70 during the night. This nano is on my desk and its near a window i dont want to move it because its next to my computer. so far in it there is about 2 pounds or LR 2 pounds of sand and 2 Xenia frags. My plan is to keep one small perc and a small carpet anemome in there after they get big ill move it to my main tank. Is a 25w heater over kill?

Better to be over kill then under Just make shure it's dialed in before leaving it.

i am a big fan of the Ebo-Jagers. now i have not bought one since they were bought out, but i would hope that they would not change. by far the thickest glass of any heater. Pyrex at that.

Go titanium..it will never break

i like the Won Bros.....the most accurate thermostat i have used. I have heard of a few people cooking their tanks with them...but no more than any other brand..they all have a problem with sticking on it seems.

Ideally, you plug it into chiller with a built in controller, or a controller, so it only can come on when the chiller/controller lets it anyway.

But thats what i used last before i used chillers and liked them.

I have one of those 50W stealth heaters in my 15 and it works very well,.. you might want to go with the 25W model for your tank though.

well i went and got one. Went to Petco they had a 25w heater for $29 dollars i thought to priecy. So then i went to a LFS near my house they had one for $15 but it was a JEBO i used a Jebo in my nano cube JBJ for a year and it never went bad on me so i got this one. So far i put it on and my 3g desk tank is at a stable 77.0 degrees all day and night with the lights off and with the lights on for only about 10 hours the temp went up to 78.3 degrees. And it holds stable.

Ive had 2 frags of Xenia in there for about a month with a salinity of 1.030+ and a temp of 62 degrees. Now i did a WC on the tank brought the salinity to 1.026 and a temp of 78.0F and they are now opening and closing like regular. Strongest xenia ive seen hehe. Also i fraged 3 Zoos and threw them in the tank all seperate. I just looked at them and they found each other and now they are all connected together. Also i move about 3 pounds of LR from my main system to here and did a aquascape with it. Ill let it sit a couple of days then im am going to get a small perc for this tank. and thats it. Only livestock that will go in there will be a small perc and a 1 hermit for cleaning crew.let me snap a pic BRB

Yeah....sorry for the vague answer before...had a unhappy kid screaming at me.....lol

You can ship zoas damp in newspaper for a couple days and they survive fine if the temp is reasonable. Take as long as you need to glue them. Wearing gloves is always a good idea though

zoas are nearly impossible to kill. I think they are just a step up from aptasia.
