help heater burst in tank

well I went to kick up the temp on my 3 week old $55 Fluval E300 hrster today, getting a bit chilly in the house and about 2 min later my tank was in chaos water bubbling up bad at the heater with a light show and smoke..

Do you think this garbage heater vented any poison into my tank ?

Go to there web site and see if they use any mecury in there heaters. see of there is a MSDS for the heater and what other information they have to offer.

Hopefully it was just a minor shocking experience for the fiah and it's over with.

I would also contact the company and tell them what happen maybe they will do the right thing and send you a new heater.

I took a quick look on the web site and did not see any materials listed that could be hazarious to the water/ fish/ corals.

maybe a W/C just to be safe.

Thats scary. I had a heater short out on me once while mixing some water for a water change. It was quite a light show for sure.

Hopefully everything is OK.
