Thats what I'm afraid is going to happen I've researched all over but I'm scared I'm going to break it trying to get it out. or if I wait to long it will break on it's own like yours might have. I'm going to have to do something soon.

heh..
well there are two ways to handle this ( actually 3)
1. get a emeral crab that will eat it.. but this can take a while.
2. remove the rock and carefully remove the bubble algae with out breaking them. they usally go soft right before they go sexual..
3. let it grow and over take everything and sell it to a yuppie as a new life form..

removing the rock with them on it is usall the safest way to do. rine them off in saltwater when done to make sure all parts are off

I can't remove the rock ( I don't think) the one bubble is actually on my fox coral that is attached to the rock with putty. the fox already has some major tissue recession from my 1 atapsia (that I did remove probably causing the fox more harm yet)

I've had luck with shoving a piece of screen down in my vacuum and then sucking it off the rock as I gently pull on it from the base. I haven't had one pop yet, but if they do the vacuum is there to catch it. It's always a risk if you can't remove the rock completely from the tank, so use caution.

Now I'm glad I didn't just set up the 125G I picked up. I knew this stuff wasn't good.

I have the rocks sitting in 5G buckets - turning it into base rock. If I purge the old rock & add ammonia will it be base rock or LR?

Yes, I'm searching through the oldies 'cause no one seems to want to help with my recent issues.

I'll show all of you....
