Help! Anemone is stuck in Intake

Ok, I came home yesterday and my Anemone was sucked up into the strainer of my HOB filter. I pulled the strainer off and left him on the bottom of the tank. He is slowly pulling himself out. I THINK he is gonna make it. My problem is I am supposed to leave town today (Friday) and won't be back till Sunday. Will he pollute my tank before Sunday if he dies?? OR should I just say its a lost cuase and flush him? He has survived this before. The Tank is a 20 gallon with about 20 lbs LR. and has a clown, jawfish, cleaner shrimp and some hermits.

suggestions??? Flush him or leave him?

thats a tough call If he doesnt look any worse than the last time it happened, i say give it a chance (unless you have a quarantine you can put him in the meantime but lighting might be an issue). Then I would get one of those sponge guards to put over your filter intake so it doesnt happen again.

Well, last I looked he was slowly very slowly making his way out of he strainer. I have fresh carbon and cranked up the protein skimmer just in case. Now I wish i had the webcam access via internet. I hope he makes it. He has doen it before and I just left him alone and he came back big as ever. We shall see. thanks for the input guys.

Hrmm once bitten -- you NEED a foam guard over that intake. One day you won't be lucky enough to spot him before he gets blenderized...

If you are away often, you need both that prefilter AND somebody to check on your tank. Not doing so is an accident waiting to happen.

Hope the critter makes it.
