heaters on 180 gallon

I want to have 2 heaters on the 180, but what wattages should I get? Do I have one at the correct temp to keep the tank about 80 deg. and the other one set just a little lower in case the other one goes out.. or both set at the same temp???

2- 250 watters will do you fine. Set them both at your ideal temp.

Most likely that "same" temp will read differently according to the thermostat on them.........but they are usually within a few degrees.

thanks, Bill... yeah I have come to know that it is what the tank says the temp is in the tank that is important and not what temp the heater is set at....lol meaning if the temp in the tank says it is 80 degrees and the heater is set at only 78 then I go with what the tank says the actual temp is...correct?
