I use EBO Jager myself - double thick glass, inexpensive, reliable. Have not heard too much about titanium

Titanium is the only way to go. A little bit more expensive but the safety of no glass breakage is worth it.

I run them in both of my setups for 6 years and have had no problems with them. I love them.

I too was looking for a new heater for my 55g. I've always read that you should have 5 to 6 watts per gallon; meaning I'd need around a 300watt heater. However I have been looking at the Ebo's and the largest I can find is a 250watt. Would this suffice, or should I get two 150watts? Thanks.

Go with the Titanium I have two 150W Heaters in my 90Gallon setup and they work great. Figure out the wattage you need for your tank divide by two and that is the wattage you want for each heater in your thank. The reasoning for this is that if one heater fails your have a back up or if one goes berserk and burns up you won't fry your tank with over heating. Also, invest in a Titainum grounding probe for your tank. They cost about $15.00 and may one day save you and your tanks life.
