I have a 50w on my biocube and it fits perfectly in the first chamber without taking anything apart and it does a good job.

I have used hydor they are great brands. shatter proof as well. I can't remember the wattage per gallon, but when you buy it on the box of each watt it will tell you how many gallons it goes up to.

Also depends on how warm the room is.

i have a 29 gallon biocube also.i use a 150 watt heater it seems to work good .i keep tank at 80 degrees and it holds it perfectly.also if you want to hide the heater you can place in the back right compartment of the biocube.theres a false floor that will push down so the heater will fit .hope that helps

Personally, I like having two heaters in case one goes out. Set one 1deg lower than the other. Stay away from glass. Two 75w heaters should do the trick. I like Stealth heaters:

Most Biocubes run on the warm side and heaters are not always needed depending on the room temp. A 50w heater should be more than sufficent for all but the coldest rooms.

Living here in Florida the winters don't get too cold and I only use a 250w heater to keep my 150g reef tank above 78 on the few really cold days. The old 3 to 5 watts of heater per gallon rule is outdated, just like using watts per gallon for lighting. There are more variables than just gallons to consider in heater selection.
