Heater Question with Remote Sump?? PICS!!

Hello all,

My friend and I are plumbing the sump for his tank into his basement and have a question about the heating for the system.

He currently has a Won Bros 250watt digital heater with the probe. (yeah i know some have had a bad experience with this heater, i ve had 3 of them with great luck) The Question is can the prob be cut and spliced into so the prob can monitor the tank temp and the heater remain in the sump. we have a 20 foot jaunt from sump to tank.

Thanks for the Input.

Mike

Here are pictures at his website and our progress pictures will be up soon!! (no fishes yet or corals still in break in phase and now rebuild stage.)

Ive actually had good luck with those heaters as well, although i dont trust any heater on my tank without a seperate controller anymore.

Regardless.....as long as the sump is running and returning to the tank there is no need to monitor the tank as well i dont think. If there happens to be any difference becasue if the distance traveled just simply adjust the thermometer/thermostat in the sump accordingly to account for it.

yeah I was kinda thinking that too. as long as there is plenty of water moving i didnt thing that it would be an issue.

Thanks

Just keep the probe in the sump away from the heater itself! temp should be the same in sump and tank!
