Heater Question..

Eventually I'll create an alias to post all of these stupid questions... But for now....

Currently setting up SW and RO water storage.....

Bought tank used with no instructions to any of the hardware. Came with two heaters. Currently have one set up in tank. Was wanting to place second in with ro water to make sure top off was same temp. HOWEVER<<<<< I am uncertain if "submersible" means that I can just through it in the Rubbermade and completly cover it w/ water... As I can't hang it on the side and have it reach the water...

What are others doing in the situation or is it safe to just throw the heater in the water and close the lid???? (ELECTRICAL>> SHOCK>> = )

Not a electrical guru.. But if its not made for that type of submersion, won't it trip a breaker???? I'd hate to stick my hand in and then get zapped,,,,pee my pants,, and pass out..... I think that might scare the dogs...

GUess I should have said that its a TOP FIN hang on back heater. Has water line but like I said, no instructions came with it. Tried to do a search through google and the only thing I found was that they are not very dependent. I figure it will make a good RO Tank Heater

can't attest to reliability, but submersible does mean just that - completely underwater is fine.
