Hawiian cleaner wrasse

I have not had much luck with cleaner wrasses but decided to give this guy a try. He's so colorful and actually ate flake food last night - that was a surprise. Does anyone else have this wrasse in their tank?

i tried one eons ago and was unsuccessfull, but that would i could not get to eat anything. if yours eats flake you are well on your way. i would try blender mush or some other frozen concoction. it would be far more nutritional for it. Marine Cuisine would be a good frozen food to try. if it becomes finicky again, apparantly beef heart is a good food to get them to eat.

Good Luck,

G~

He was eating at the LFS so I decided to risk it. I have some frozen beef heart to try. I really hope he will continue to eat.

I tried those once too, but it didnt take. hopefully you have better success!! It seems they are often considered "delicate shippers" online, so they must have a bad rep, but I like them a lot.

Good luck, I love those little fish but don't buy them because they are too hard to keep alive. Let us know how it's going, I hope he continues to eat for you!

I tried one over a year ago.....It killed my mayed pair if Naked Clownfish *False Percs with no stripes! All I could figure is that he didn't recognize them as clownfish. I passed him over to a friend that had all larger fish and he was a model citizen for her! Go figure.
