HAve you ever seen this?

Sup, so my frogspawn is mostly dead now (I lost about 5 of the 8 heads of my frogspawn) and one of the heads started detaching and now its on the bottom.

So problem is this, I tought that it would on the bottom and get eaten by wathever is going about down there. But it dosent seem that its dead. Its been tow days its down there and it seems to be puffing during the day.

Is that possible? a FG head attaching itself to a rock or something? if so how do you do it

Sounds like the head that detached is doing just fine. It's like when you frag it by breaking off a head or two and moving them. Keep and eye on it, you may wind up with two healthy frogspawns.

Polyp bailout.

This is a process that is usually associated with stress in Pocillaporids and some Acroporids, as well as many Faviids, Cynarina, Scolymia, and related "large polyped" or solitary-polyped spp.

See info in either Eric (Borneman's) book or in Delbeek and Sprung. The polyp will grow a new skeleton if conditions that brought this about have been corrected.

Interesting early Borneman paper not directly related to topic:
