...a clown fish go in a hammer coral?
just wondering if this would happen.

yep.

Clowns can be hosted by anything from euphyllia(hammers/frogspawns etc) to powerheads.

I bought a hammer and a frogspawn for them, but no luck.

I have 4 Clarkii's in my tank. The largest claimed the anemone and the other 3 host in the Toadstool, Hairy Mushrooms, Hammer, and the Scolymia or Wellsi Brains.
