I've had good luck with liveaquaria.. Can't expect growth as you're speaking of, most if any will die off during the curing process.

I went with liveaquaria as well. It will take you a full three months and you will get some die off that you need to keep after, but the rock and service were fine. Curing live rock is basically a test of patience.

I got mine from Dr. Mac - http://www.drmaccorals.com/sys-tmpl/fijirock/another reputable company. Good service, good rock, good price. Beats lfs all the way.
Price tip. If you're setting up a new tank, just get uncured rock and cycle it for a month or so. under low lights (single PC or VHO) for corraline. Also, try and get a carrier you can pick up from airport if it's convenient to you. I saved nearly $50 just driving 10 miles to the airport, which I go by to work everyday anyway.

The price you want to pay will have a big part in what you get, along with how you ship it, what ever you do don't do ups ground, Get it overnight or 2nd day air. Most the rock is all the same being sold on the market.

I got my rock from tb saltwater. It has a huge diversity of life on it and as long as you make sure to get any dead sponges off it causes only a minimum cycle. You do have to watch out though because you will get alot of hitchhikers and not all desirable ones. I got like 10 gorilla crabs with mine and I still have 2 or 3 more to catch after 9 months. I got a huge amount of life diversity sponges, corals, 3 or 4 colors of coralline, bivalves, sea squirts, urchins, and several types of macro.
