I'm just a diligent hunter
they are a pain to get rid of, kill early and often

my system was
add Peppermint shrimp to eat the aptasia
add star fish to eat the shrimp before they ate my polyps

you don't need the paste
I used the seachem liquid calcium (the blue stuff)

filled up a 20ml syrenge and went after them
just squirt in the general direction, and poof they were gone

Nothing killed here. I've always caught them small and promptly taken them out by removal of hte rock or kalk paste.
