Hard Corals not responding ?

Have 150g Reef Tank, zoa's doing great. 1 year old, haven't lost a fish yet Trying to introduce a few hard corals and they get coating of algae ? Is this too advanced to attempt? Have calc reactor and water parms are good, I think.

Also if Coraline algae is colored all my rock and back of tank purple and I want some of the natural color of rock to be present for contrast to everything else, what is the solution? Less CO2 bubbles ?

Can you describe a bit more of the tank? Husbandry habits, lighting specifics, water parameters, water flow? Anything you can think of it.

Not much you can do about the coraline unless you flip your rock every few month or buy new and sell the old every fre months.....

As far as the "hard" corals...
SPS or LPS?
Have you always had the Ca reactor? or dod you just get it.
Did the hard corals have color when you got them?
Like said above water params, lightin and flow.

One thing you want to be careful with is the lighting. I've found that hard corals are especially sensitive to quick changes in light. I acclimate all of my corals to the light starting with them at the bottom of the sandbed and then moving them up.

If you are getting algae growth on them, make sure they ARE NOT directly in front of a flow pattern. Most of the time they just like enough flow to move their polyps and not destroy them! hah
