Happy July Fourth!

Good Morning and Happy 4th of July, Everybody!

It's the country's 233rd birthday so let's celebrate!

We're having a big cookout at my daughter Susan's farm to celebrate the Fourth and a belated birthday party for Chance, who turned 13 on the 2nd.

It's the Fourth of July so load up the kids, pack a picnic, head to the mountains and then watch the big fireworks show in Pigeon Forge tonight!

Have a Fantastic Fourth, Everyone!

Dick

Good morning Dick and the rest of TRT!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY
I am getting ready to head in to work. We will be doing the firefighter thing by celebrating any occasion with FOOD. I was off last shift, but what has been decided is starting the day with a firehouse breakfast (sausage, biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs, coffee, OJ) and then some type of cook out this afternoon. Since the airfield is closed today we can send someone out to the store. I'm betting on burgers and dogs with all the fixins, but we may end up with steak. Dinner's at 4 as usual. So belly up for which ever meal you would like (or both)
Hope y'all have a great day and if you love your freedom, thank an American Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Marine or Coast Guardsman.
Ray

Morning Dick and Ray and everyone else that'll be checkin in here today
Off today, and nothing really planned for the holiday, decided that i will at least cook out one last time today on our grill that has seen better days (will be replacing it shortly). Waitin on the local grocery store to open got nab some grub, but other than that, nuthin of real importance lined up for today. Mebbe pick some blueberries and/or some pie cherries and play it by ear for the remainder of the day.

Hope everyone has a great and safe holiday!

Good mawnin', Dick, Ray, Jeff, and all of TRT!

Dick - two celebrations in one! What a grand way to whup it up with your family. What is FishGirl doing in ChicagoLand today?

Ray - Thanks for the firehouse breakfast! Since you have to work today, you might as well have some decent food

Jeff - My question for you is...what is your favorite blueberry dish to eat? And good luck to Blyth as she works on those details following the death of her father.

Hi, HHC! Hi, Patrick!

This AM I'm making cakes to take to that huge celebration. I thought I'd pop in here while the butter comes to room temp.

Lots of love and hugs and peace to everyone.

Happy 4th of July!

I talked to her yesterday and they were having a big fireworks show on the lakefront last night and I think the school was having a cookout for them today. She'll probably spend most of the day in her studio working if I know her.

Thanks, Tom. I'll try!

Hmmm, My standard answer to that question Cath is,,, "NONE, I'm so burnt out from pickin usually i could care less about blueberries " LOL.
Prob the standard goodies for me would be muffins that Blyth would make. Or what the guys(or better halfs) at work make and bring in made from the berries they get from me. I've known people to make wine (tho i've never had the chance to taste test any )

Well, now that i've thought about it, (and my belly is grumblin' ) my fav is prob a nice blueberry pie, with that sugary(sp?) crust deal , warm w/ vanilla ice cream .

Along with the blueberries, i'll pick some pie cherries and even some raspberries here and there within the blueberries (that the birds were so nice to seed there for me.)Darn raspberries canes/thorns tear me up when i mow 'tween the rows OW! I try to remove a lot of them every season, but they seem to win out some years. Blyth loves the raspberries so i leave some alone for her.

Blyth is still down in Indy ironing out details after the fact. Some stuff is going easy, some of course is not.
And based on what mail is starting to trickle in here, she's been doing a lot of work regarding this stuff .

We were lucky enuf to have a son of a guy that used to manage/coach the baseball team the FIL used to be on yrs ago, take on the lawyer'in stuff for free , as a tribute/honor/nicety to his memory .
