Happy Friday TRT!
Good morning all!
My male seahorse is under the weather....I've had to burp his brood pouch this morning....first time ever and I've had him nearly a year. He had lots of air and some undeveloped eggs NOT a good sign. I will probably have to flush his pouch with antibiotics too...I think there's an infection brewing.
He doesn't take well to being handled either...but he has lots of "fight" so that's a good sign.
He hasn't produced babies in about 6 weeks but he has had miscarriages. I'm wondering if he's "over the hill"...I have no idea how old he is, but he was wild caught, I've had him just shy of a year and in the wild I think they go 4-6 years and up to 9 in captivity.
I will try to evacuate his pouch again this afternoon, and see if I can get some diamox or ethryomycin for a flush. NOT looking forward to that, he doesn't seem to understand that it will help him
On a happy note, got the sign up for my store yesterday, and my San Fran Bay freezer It should look more like a store and less like a clutter in the next few days!
Peace to all
Jenn

Yeah summink is rutten in da state of Denmark
I'm doing some research now on pouch flushes. Luckily I have a vet who trusts my fish treatment recommendations and can write me a Rx for "people meds" if need be.
I've burped him twice this morning, he's righted himself but he's not impressed at all.
I see a pouch flush in his future...if he hates me now, he'll REALLY hate me later.

Happy Friday to all of those who work a normal 40 hour work week!
Today I will be doing my water change ..... After that is done, I don't know what I will be doing! We have some weeds in the front yard that we need to get rid of before the HOA sends us a letter.
I kind of want to go fish browsing, but I think I better not

Good Morning Jenn, Jerel, Greg, Freckles,Nick & All!!!
It turned chilly again but at least the skies are blue!
Today is the last work/school day before the Easter Break so FishGirl & I are headed South in the morning for Florida!!!
I only wish we had more than 7 days since it's at least 12 hr drive each way. There are so many good TRT friends that I'd like to spend some time with. We are going to spend a couple days in Tampa and take in Busch Gardens before heading over to my grown daughter's family in Sebastian.
Jenn,
Hope the Horse Daddy is OK.
Greg,
I'll give you a call later this afternoon or evening.
Jerel,
One of these days we're going to get back down to the Keys. I'd come on down anyway if you have any really super bargains!!!
Freckles,
If it's a choice between pulling weeds and a trip to the LFS, I know what I'd do! You can always put a sign in the yard that says: Agricultural Experiment; DO NOT MOW!!
Nick,
You slipped in while I was typing! I'm anxious to see Jenn's store, too. I hope to make a Hotlanta trip in the near future.
Meanwhile, there's stuff to get squared away in the office; stuff to pack; and animals to get squared away. I do have someone coming in to look after the tanks and critters. There's always that apprehension about leaving the reef.
Anyway, hope everybody has a great day!
Dick
