hammer coral ?

I bought a hammer yesterday it has 3 heads on it and 1 that is gone .I was just wondering if it is dying or what,and if I should break that part off or leave it alone?Thanks for any and all help

Is there any viable tissue left on the dead head?
Sometimes corals can show amazing regenerative powers. During a recent incident my trumpet was looking like it was ready for the bone yard but I left it and its recovering quite nicely. You might try a quick dip in Iodine water.

There is nothing inside of this head not a sign of anything

Then you can break off the dead branch if it bothers you, personally I would wait a week or two
