Hairy mushroom current? light?


My friend fragged me a hairy mushroom. How much current and light do these guys usually need?

They seem to do well for me in anything but strong current. They look cooler and spread out way more in low current, but they seem to grow and split more in medium flow..at least from what ive seen. ive had them under pcs and 250 MH's and havent noticed any difference.

Good, I've got them in medium flow and as much light as I can give them. I'm supposed to pick up another set of NO T-5s tomorrow, so I'll be able to give them a boost!

let them adjust to what You have then add the new lights if They came from low light tank.

The tank they came from has a lot more light than mine. MH in fact. I only have NO T-5s at the moment.

yup, had one now have 6 total.
this type of mushroom is very good at living with just about anytype of lighting. it wodul seem that the higher( stronger in our minds) the lighting the fast it will grow and reproduce.
take pictures of it over time and see how it grows for you.

your going to love them! Next to my colts, hairy mushrooms are my fav. I find them to look even cooler if you put the rock they are on facing upward and flat.

I to have green hairies and would like for them to reporduce like eveyone says they do. What type of supplements does everyone add and what do you feed them?
