had 4 different types of snails most have died

we've had 4 different types of snails. the orange, margarita and mexican turbo all died. the were put in at differents times over a course of a month. my levels are good around the board but the snails only last like an hour before they die. then a day later the hermit crabs feast WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!

Poor acclimation maybe? The fact that your hermits are alive rules out copper or other possible contaminants.

acclimating snails?? I just drop my in never had an issue could be a low salinity I have heard that it can have ill affects on snails

i ALWAYS drip acclimate inverts...they are much more sensitive to parameter swings...you might want to check the parameters of the water they're transporting in before you add them to make sure there isn't a big difference...but that's too much work for me...i prefer to just drip acclimate...other than that i cannot help with the diagnosis of the problem
