H.O.T. Magnum.....


has anyone ever used or havea hot magnum...planning on setting up a 29 gallon tank but will not have rom for anyhting under the tank b/c it will be on top of my desk....how does it work? good? pros? cons?

I'd use it for temp things ,like put carbon or phosphate or nitrate removers.

cannisters filters tend to make water quality worse instead of better. you would be better of getting a good HOT skimmer.

I have a HOT Magnum and love it. That said, I would not use it as a permanent filter on an aquarium, I'd get a skimmer. Like the others, I consider it a temp solution for discrete issues, and for that its truly wonderful and efficient. Great at clearing that dust cloud when you add new substrate, carbon filtration, vacuming up excess algae, etc.

I have one on on my 29G freshwater tank. It does what it's designed to do and does it very quietly. Nice filter.
