Gulf of Mexico Rock - Gray snails ?????

Every day is a new adventure, as new critters emerge from their homes. The latest is a small gray "snail", about 1/2" long and it has a conical type shell. It seems to like holes in the rock and just waves it's periscope, or trunk around. What could this be? Sorry, I don't have any pictures.

could it be a Nassarius Snail, they live in the sand bed mostly..

Nassarius snails are a welk. they just prefer their meat already dead instead of hunting it down like other welks.

i remove all snails that have the periscope.
