I just had my hands in the tank so my skimmer shut down, so I pulled the hose off the waste container and the water level rose about 1/2". I hooked the hose back up to the collection container and removed the lid on the skimmer, my water level rose about 4-5".

You definitely have an issue with airflow. Mine is not nearly so pronounced. What size is your drain? I did ask for an oversized one, but yours looked to be about the same size as mine in your picture.

The hole is bigger than what comes on the MR-2, but the barb size is the same. So same hose size as the MR-2. Might need to make a trip to the hardware store.

Why did you go with the 6" second riser instead of the standard 4.5"? What difference does that make?

The bigger output drain fitting (3/4") fixed the problem of not letting all the air escape. Worth the .79 cents for the fitting.
