Question

Green Star Polyps

Ive been having a rock with star polyps on it, and everyone says they grow fairly quick, but mine do not seem to be growing. Any information on helping them grow.

I've had four small bunches of them for almost
three years now and mine haven't spread.
Is that what you mean by growing?
Are opening up properly or are they staying
closed?

Yeah i mean they are not spreading, they are opening fully, but just not spreading, like new polyps. Ive heard that theses are easy to grow and propogate onto new rocks.

not sure why yours are not spreading,,,any rockwork next to it to spread too? had mine for over 6 yrs, and always putting a scalpel to it to take to my LFS (that and xenia) keeps me in great store credit status,,,

Not spreading might be a good thing. My LFS will not take them so I either have to scrape them off or shade them so they will not get any light. even if they are not in contact with other rocks, they will grow on the sandbed or glass and quickly overgrow any area at least IME.
