Green Star Polyps

Just got some of these today and the polyps haven't come out yet, its been about 5 hours since I put them in the tank.

Should I just give it more time or is there anything I can do to help them acclimate?

Thanks

Dont worry thats normal for them. It took mine nearly a week to acclimate to my light and water movement before they opened up fully.

I agree... don't worry about it. Some parts of my polyps haven't open in weeks.... and they just started to open up again.. and they look great. It's really hard to kill star polyps.

I bought a medium size rock of green star polyps and they were out real nice and then closed up for a couple of days until they got use to the current and lights and now back in full bloom.
I have them hanging out over a ledge and look real cool. Johnny

GSP

My GSP have opened during the day, a majority of it. But some small star have fallen off. LIke instead of 5, theres some polyp with 4.

Is it ok?.. Is it too much current. I have it in the middle of the tank.

Wow, this is an old thread
You'll all be glad to hear my GSP's are doing well.
With my new camera I should be able to post some nice pics of them.

Wind,
My polyps are doing well in a moderate to low current. They're about 6 inches from the surface of the water under 32 Wates of 50/50 PC lighting.
Thats makes for some pretty low lighting compared to a lot of types of corals.
You may also want to think about other corals near your GSP's. I just moved my Colt near some Anthelia polyps for about 2 weeks and about half the polyps have melted.
Neighbors might be letting off some bad mojo the GSP's don't like.
