Green star polyp not colonizing

Hello, I have had a fragment of green star polyps for the past 3 months and it is not growing or expanding, i was told that these flourish fairly easily. Everyday they open fully but they do not expand and grow. All my other corals are growing beautifully i just cant seem to get these to grow. I have a 35 gallon tank, do 5gal water changes every week, feed phytoplankon every other day and have compact flourescent lighting. Any advice?

So it hasn't covered any new rock? With my GSP I was looking at some old vide of them when I first got them and now and was really able to see how far they have come and how much they have grown. Besides that I don't know gsp don't really require anything major. I have noticed though that with high flow on them they really start to grow like crazy. best of luck!

I’ve noticed my star polyps tend to grow in spurts. I would just give it some time and they will be nuisances before you know it.
