Green/Spotted Mandarin
Okay so I broke down and bought my first fish. I love the way the gobies move about and I could not resist. All I have in my take so far is fire red shrimp, starfish and now this gobie. I do have a large amount of pods in my tank and I as soon as I let him loose he went right to work on the pods that really surprised me. I thought he might still be alittle stressed from the ride home.I have named him gobie-stitious-maximus. And I hope he has a long reign as chief of the reef...Just wanted to share this with you guys and gals...

Your nano wont support enough pods to keep the mandarin fed. It will starve.

You would spend a fortune on pods using a nano. Even if you set up a grow tank for raising them, your talking a lot of work. You just can't imagine how much those little guys eat. I am also wanting one but have been waiting for the tank to mature and now that I am at that point, I am being to picky. I want one that is nice and fat and already been introduced to live food. So still searching.
Stillman that is a beatiful mandarin! Nice and fat. Does he show any interest in frozen food at all? Hint hint wink!

Get ahold of Billy at www.riptidesreef.com
He has them quite often and he won't sell a mandarin dragonette until it is eating frozen foods. If you don't see them on his site, Send him an email. He may have some in training.
And Congrats Stillman! I have one named "Spot" and I love him.
