great chance to buy mated maroon clowns - should I?

A guy in the local reef club is selling a mated pair of maroons for $50. I know they can be uber aggressive, and preferably should be added last. Obviously, this opportunity doesn't come along every day, so I'm wondering if I should go for it.

A few factors:
1. Due to my first major mistake, a heater temp sensor getting yanked out of the water, I lost 2 fish (in retrospect I was lucky 1 fish and 90% of the corals including SPS made it). The only current inhabitant in my 118g is rather aggressive 3.5" Royal Gramma (she ripped up my wrasse and went after my blenny, when they were in there).
2. I'm thinking I might do a more aggressive reef: the gramma, maroon clowns, genicanthus angel (species TBD), a tang (species TBD - maybe powder blue or orange shoulder), and a bluejaw trigger. I actually would like to add the trigger down the road, once my corals have grown out more, so if it does decide to pick, the corals will be big enough to make it. Could I add the angel, tang and trigger after the maroon clowns?

Thanks in advance.

That is kinda what I'm thinking, finding a pair of clowns, much less a mating pair, seems to be really difficult....

I have a pair of gold stripe Maroon clowns and they are fantastic. they chase the fish that come close to their RBTA but that is it.

They wouldn't be the last. The gramma is the only fish in there, and I would have to pick them up this weekend, so the tang, angel, and trigger would come afterwards. Could these larger and/or agressive fish be put in following the clowns? (I'm wondering if its the scenario where they are mostly aggressive to similar sized or smaller more passive fish)

Jump all over that deal!

I had 2 pair of Gold Stripe Maroons and loved them. I sold the nano that I had one pair in and sold the pair seperately for $180. They are worth quite a bit.

making your own pair isnt too hard, but if they are actively breeding its a good deal

So you think I can add bigger fish after the clowns (a genicanthus angel, trigger, and tang)?

I know they are difficult in light of other clown types, but if you follow the size varrience method and get a female and add a juv it isn't too bad. I have had luck before.
