Got some new algae I dont want :)

This has been growing for the last month or so. This tank has been up for 14 months and my water tests out fine. I did a 10 gal water change about 2 months ago.

How can I get rid of this algae? I have had a brown hair algae in another tank, but there is no hair on this one.

Here is a couple of pics below.

Thanks for your help.

Steve, This looks like cyano to me, I'm sure others will chime in. I'm not sure how big the tank is, but 10 gl a couple of months ago probably isn't enough on the water changes. Most people here do 20% or more around every 2 weeks. What type of skimmer do you have? What is your bioload? It looks like you could scrape some of this stuff off and vacuum it out with a water change. You probably need to do 20 - 25% water changes for at least 2 or 3 weeks and scrape the algae off prior to the changes. Also, what is your substrate? If you have sand or crushed coral you need to vacuum it out when you do the water changes.

When I get cyano I blow it off with a turkey baster and catch what I can with a net.

You should do a WC at least once a month.I do 10% a week.and when you do it use a hose to suck up that algae and ditris.Hope you use RO/DI for WC and top-off.
