Question

Got pic of worms in reef tank-need advice

I am new to the reef tank world and in need of help identifying worms. They are multiplying rapidly.
What kind of worm are they? How do I get rid of them?

Omega One, got a bunch of imprisoned hermits in there too - so I drop an "Omega-One Veggie Round" once and a while then enjoy the show.

Bristle worms are good to have. Just don't try to pet one. Most don't get very large at all. I said most. There was one website with a guy that had a 6 foot one. He had pictures too.

Alaska,

That is a fireworm, not a bristle worm. It is NOT reef safe so don't put it in your tank. Also, NEVER touch it with your bare hands.

Youfoundus,

The worm in Steve Weast's tank was a Eunicdae worm which is also not reef safe.

Thanks for the advice. I do have a lot of them. My tank is 55 gallons. Will some eventually just die off? It seems they really multiply fast.
