oooooooooooh yeah..... havin lots of fun......... i sifted my sand twice using a double layer of nylon screening to get all the debris out, which worked great, glad i did it. but i couldn't wait and jumped the gun, by adding my first layer of sand. heck! i thought i did a good job at it, and with the rio pump removed and all pumping devices off, i first added alittle, no biggie, but its 55lbs.... and i was making a mess..... so my tank was already cloudy..... and i did the pour..... really slow..... and i laid down a nice spread layer..... i step back..... i could only see the outline of the sand against the glass, nothing else...... the water which was soo crystal clear, was now a solid brown of micro sand particles, bubbles of air floating around my tank encrusted with sand, and a top layer of biological slime. but this evening things look a bit clearer, i'm looking at least 15gl water change later tonight. i have changed out 5 gls in which the top 1/8" layer of sand was removed, the difference was like night and day. so, i am having lots of "fun"!
peace...
