Good thing-Bad thing-or what?

I got a small rock with barnicles on it that are apparently still alive. Are these a problem/pest in a reef tank?

If someone has the inside scoop on this...enlighten me please.

Thanks in advance

Thanks Doug1. Thats what I kinda thought but wasnt sure and didnt want to take it out of the QT until I got some more info.

Seems like it would be kind of a cool thing in a tank though, but I have yet to see or hear of anyone keeping this in a tank.
