Good place for some LR
I am looking for some live rock ~50-60#. Any idea on a good place and price.
I can get som local for $6/lb, but thought hey if I can get much better deal than I'd order it online.
about 1/2 will be going into my tank and 1/2 into a buddies.
Let me know.
Thanks
So far i've found 44# from marine depot (uncured fiji for $169 shipped)
so about $3.84/lb shipped
And Liveaquaria has ~45# cured for $180 shipped....~$4/lb shipped

try www.premiumaquatics.com too. some of their good LR is more expensive per pound, but actually weighs less so you get more for your money. all of my LR came from them!

I agree with Miss Michelle...a bunch of my stuff is from there and I have been very happy with it.
I have also had good experiences with MD and Live Aquaria.

You will like the Premium Aquatics rock, I have been there and they have a very nice warehouse.
You could also ask your LFS for a discount, I have done it before and the LFS was willing to work with me, I guess if they make some money on it is better than making no money for no sale.

Even if you don't buy from them, check out Tampa Bay Saltwater's video on how they make live rock. It's quite interesting: http://www.tbsaltwater.com/

I want to order some of their "Live Rock" It is kinda pricey, and shipping really isn't cheap, but I think it might be worth it. After my tank gets setup and cycles, I want to get some of that live rock in there. I think my main reason for wanting it is just because of the hitchhikers that come on the rock.

I wouldn't put any rock i received in the mail directly into a cycled tank. It'll just throw it into another cycle, IMO. Their rock is really nice though, on the pics and video at least.
