Good news and bad news

I went to get Christy some stuff for her birthday in addition to a day in Coronado including the best brunch worldwide at the Hotel Del and ended up all mixed up.

My goal was to replace her missing Yellow Watchman Goby that committed suicide by jumping. I have a good friend that works at the LFS that had a puny 1" yellow tang hidden for a couple of weeks. He ensured me that the fish would be okay in our 55 for a year or two then ready to move into the 90...then time to buy a bigger tank. Also, he has in his "secret" stash a maroon clown that can only be categorized as streetwise with a ding or two in his fins from a huge tank. It is a customer return from someone that has some massive tank with some nasty critters.

As my friend Jeff seems to know what he is doing I am pretty confident in his opinions. Will one of the puny 1" tangs be okay in the 55 for a while, and will a maroon live with some fish that are a little bigger but not aggressive. The 90 has a spotted grouper at 3" and a hawkfish about the same size that will go back when they get to 4", along with a really passive foxface.

Also, he gave us an incredible softie frag with four or five things on it which was great. Unless the Alien grows out of it I think that some of the opinions of some LFS workers posted here are underrated.

You get to watch the SEALs training out in front of the Del? They use that jetty in front of the Del for rock portage drills. Good luck with the tang.

Well I talked to my LFS friend earlier at his day job. Sheesh, this guy has all kinds of long term plans for my tanks. The tiny tang fit in well in the 55 and that junkyard dog Maroon is perfect with the bigger fish in the 90. I'll try to get a picture of the tang if I bring the camera home from work...he is littler than my puny percs. I was told now though that my spotted grouper and Hawaiian trigger were getting too big for the 90 and to trade them in for smaller fish, or some frags. Now who is going to eat my clean up crew?
