Good Morning, It's FRIDAY!!

Good morning, IT'S FRIDAY!!!

A mild 58 this morning, rising to 75, with showers on tap for the day "Bringing Spring Flowers", as the saying goes.

Just work and school today for us until this evening, then it's FishGirl's school Spring Carnival. One of the big fundraisers is a silent auction for baskets of goodies put together by the classes and donated from local businesses. That always costs me $$ but it's worthy. (Plus, I usually get stuff that makes good gifts for others.)

This is the Henry Whitehead Cabin, Cades Cove in the Smokies. I've been wanting to see this one for a couple of years but the road to it has always been closed. Last weekend, the gate was open so we got a treat, even though it was overcast so the lighting wasn't that good.

This is one of the most unique cabins in the Park. A very rough, smaller cabin is at the rear, built by Martha Sheild's brothers after her husband deserted her and their small son. She later married Henry Whitehead, who built the larger, front cabin 1n 1898 and joined them together by a covered porch. The front cabin's logs were cut in a sawmill, unlike most of the hand-hewn log cabins in the Smokies. Also unusual is the brick chimney, unlike most of stones, built with hand-made bricks from local clay. This cabin is rumored to be haunted, but we didn't see any ghosts (just lens flare on a few shots!!).

Have a Fabulous Friday!

Dick

Mornin'...

I am so glad it is Friday...

Got new contacts last night. I'm trying out the new Focus Night and Day lenses. Kind of nice to wake up and be able to see right away....

I'm running late this morning, but really don't care. It's been a long week. I'll get there when I get there.

Have a good one!

Jodi

Here I be, Tim. Just peckin' away! Be sure to check out the birthdays today, everyone.

That's interesting stuff about that cabin, Dick. But are you quite sure about the lens flare vs ghosts? Who knows what lurks in the Smokies

Jodi- I've never heard of those kinds of lenses...boy, that would be nice to wake up and see!

Wheee I took yesterday aftenoon off, and today too, plus I work the late shift on Monday. Almost sounds like a vacation

Lots of love and hugs and peace to everyone.

I'm too tired to even care if it's Friday...wife wasn't feeling good last nigth=I get NO sleep. It might as well be *onday for me. I think I finally got to sleep last night at like 2:00am, and had to wake up at 5:30. I don't remember the train ride this morning.

Morning all,
Cool and rainy here today. Not much going on here, still working around the house. Next up is new foyer wallpaper and another oak rail. But first I have to strip all of the old paper. Starting to look like a one man Trading Places episode. Now if I could only find Page Davis......

TGIF!!!

It's going to be a long day today but that's ok; it's still Friday! We're having a big party at work this afternoon to celebrate our drawing for 6 months of free rent! My residents are excited abut this one.

Absolutely wonderful weather today with a high of 77 and great looking weather for the weekend, too. I really should study but I'm going to get some "hooky" time in there, too.

Austin, good to see you!

Is it quitting time yet??

Alice
