Good moon light?

I do not have a moon light on my 38 gal but I would like one. I like the look but I also want to have a good 24-hour light cycle. Would this be a good moon-light(hit the link).I am thinking about the 20 watt one. I like that it is fully submersible. I just want to know if people think this would work as a good moon-light.

Thanks Ryan

all moonlights are...basic LED lights.
you can find them in any marine/boating store.
they have plenty of fixtures that you can retrofit and they are CHEAP.

us boaters like them b/c they are low on power consumption and very bright.
you could get away with just 2 1-5 watt lights.
i have 2- 1 watt white on my 55 and they are more then bright enough...even too bright in my opinion.

When I was building my canopy I needed to add a couple of fans to cool the MH light, so I put on some of those cool Blue LED computer case fans on there. They work great and provide just the right amount of light and keep things cool. Plus they were only $15 a peice.

I mounted one of those bluish colored flat nite lights you get at Home Depot. The ones with the forever warranty and only costs 3 cents a year to operate 24/7. You can get a 2 pack for about 5 bucks.

Puts a nice moon glow in the tank. Well see what Sylvania Lighting says when I turn it in for warranty work due to salt corrosion.

Smo,
I wonder if those are "dimmable". I want to use the dimming function on my neptune controller so LED's are out. Obviously they aren't meant to be dimmed...

akeyzoo, not sure if they are dimmable, but it's sure worth a try.
Just in case my decription is somewhat vague, here is a link to what I am trying to describe: http://www.lowes.com/lkn?action=prod...083-207-71282L

If you want it to be like the moon you need the right light spectrum like you do for your other lights I think the moon is 460 - 480nm.I went to RS and there blue is like 510nm so thats not right and I bet the ones at HomeDept or the Marina are wrong too!Unless you just like blue light, but if your trying to duplacate the moon for sponing or natural like your other lights get the right spectrum then.

These are the fans that I put on my canopy, I don't have a picture of them on yet but I'll see what I can do.
