Its a conspiracy! When I used to work at the LFS the owner complained about the deteriorating condition of mains water to the water authority and was told "our water is for people not fish". They will tell you what a great job they do but when you begin to see the crap you have to filter out, you do wonder what effect it has on humans.

I'm not sure if I am supposed to post this here but what the heck. This is the same type unit I bought. I am happy with it so far. Keep in mind that you will have to continously buy the filters which can be purchased almost anywhere. Luckily, we have not had to replace any yet but I will probably by a case when I do. I also purchased the recommended TDS Meter and PSI Meter. They are about $25 each but worth it.

There are many other units that I'm sure would be just as good.
