good coral for my clowns
OK i have a 20g with a 5g fudge that bought used up and running. tanks has settled down from the move. I am looking for a coral that my true perkulas (sp?) might like. I don't think I am ready to try an anonymity yet as i am still getting use to what the tank wants when but the majors are almost dead on (nitrate still at .5 and dropping all others 0) have a 150w mh over the tank thanks dave

My goofy clownfish tries to host in a completely closed flower pot coral! And my GSP's. And there is an anemone in the tank!! I think it depends more on whether your clown is going to host at all, then they will use anything, including a powerhead!

Anenomes and LPS corals do great for clowns.

If you go ith an anemone, do some searching on what would be a natural host for true clown perulcas. be mindful though - the anemone will move to get to a place where he is comfortable with the light, flow, etc. That place might be right next to your prized coral so a great number of people do NOT like them in their reef tanks.

My maroons have hosted condies, xenia, and are currently ticking my bubble coral off to no end! I would definatly try going with something other than the anemone to start. Mine for the most part stayed put but it never failed when he would decide to move he somehow managed to pull the cover off a powerhead and get mutalated. Tough little bugger.

well first off what kind of lights do you have? For anemones and most corals you need strong lights.

"anonymity" - Wiskey I think you have some competition in the anti-spelling bee
(Dave, since you are new, this is not intended as a jab at you at all, its a running joke here...)

also in that small of a tank with that much light the anemone might not be too happy with it. My clown host's a torch which I hate. It was one of my fav. corals because it was so full but now its half closed all the time. He started hosting in the long tenacle anemone in my avatar, but that thing got huge! Its tentacles got to be about 10 inches long, so I decided to get rid of it because I wanted to go mainly coral.

Hey everyone !
Havent been on for a while but I got these 2 lovely percula clowns and an anenome. The anenome did not come with them. However after waiting about 2 weeks one has finally found his new pad.
Enjoy
