Gold stripe maroon losing gold stripe?!?

My Gold Stripe Maroon clown's golden stripe is deteriorating. Anybody know why? or possible reasons?

Mine did the same thing! The fish is perfectly healthy. Is he the only clown? Mine is alone and think he lost it cause he doesn't need to impress anyone. This is just my quess. I figure as long as he is healthy it's not an issue. I have had my clown about 2 years and he lost the stripe about 3 months after getting him.

No, mine are a pair..and Ive had them for about 5 years. Just thought it was odd that all of a sudden the male is losing his gold.

I dunno then. Does seem strange that his color fades after such a long time. Other than color loss he seems okay tho?
