This is a pair of Yellow Watchman Gobies and their Tiger Pistol Shrimp that my husband has in his tank. They stay to themselves unless another fish gets to close and then the goby will dart out at it. The only additional information I can give you about the pistol shrimp is ... they love to use rock rubble, frags, etc. as supports/blocking up the hole to their tunnel (as you can see in this picture).

Thanks Joanne. I hope you find a great goby/shrimp pair, as they'll provide you with lots of entertainment.

anyone had luck pairing a sleeper goby with a pistol shrimp? ive heard of it happening i just havent seen it for myself.

I'm searching for a Ward's Tiger Goby, i used to have one years ago and i loved that fish. My LFS tries to order it almost every week and never gets it shipped. Must be a popular fish, but i have rarely seen them over the years.

I would definitely get a pistol shrimp if they realistically could pair up.

I recently got a pistol shrimp and an orange spotted shrimp goby, and I love them! I haven't decided on whether or not they've decided to buddy up. The shrimp has dug in about three different spots and is still very small so I don't see him a lot. At first they were in the same hole under a rock (I knew because I saw sand flying out) but the goby has such a personality and hops around the tank like he owns the place. I was a little scared once I started researching pistol shrimp and heard about them breaking glass, etc. but everything has been good and i'd assume people wouldn't want them in their aquariums if that was a regular occurance! (I hope) I've only seen the shrimp once but he must be okay because every morning when I go to the tank the sand is rearranged near his holes. I think he just likes the dark for now.
