No, I don't think so. I had a tiger watchman that sifted sand from morning until night. Now, I have a pink-spotted goby that never sifts sand. My yellow clown goby didn't sift either, my neon goby didn't... so I guess some do and some don't.

HTH,
Jenni

Ditto on what Jenni said---They will burrow but do not actually sift the sand.

No, I just purchased one and he's TINY. Just wondering if there's anything I shouldn't add to my tank. I only have a 47 gal, so that eliminates a lot of big predators

I've had a Yellow Watchman Gobie for 8 months. I only see this fish about once a month. He never comes out, not even to eat. I don't know if my Yellow Tang or Coral Beauty is picking on him or what. If I could catch this fish, I would take it back to the LFS.

The only predator I think he might have would be a big hungry Emerald Crab.
