Assuming you don't have a reef-ready tank, you'll need a hang-on overflow box, and a sump of some description... and a return pump. Not too hard to plumb up but I'm not a fan of hang on
overflow boxes. Alternatively you could have the side of the tank drilled for a drain... but again that's going to involve draining the tank, and either DIY drilling or taking it to a LFS that provides that service. It's a risk to drill... but most can be drilled easily by someone who knows what they are doing.
In a pinch you can do with what you have... take off the canister and add more powerheads OR a hang-on mechanical/chemical filter like an Emperor 400, just remove the biowheels if you're concerned about nitrate. That's probably the easiest and most cost-effective way of going about it. If the tank was larger, I'd suggest either replacing with a pre-drilled (reef-ready) tank, or drilling after market, OR a
HOB overflow box.
