Display-150
MR-2 with 8" riser extension and second Beckett
Total water volume when system done-300
BB
Plan on around 12 fish, mostly medium to small
CLS-4500gph Return-800gph
Im going to build a 96"x48"x30" so yup, wish I went bigger! For this tank I willl build a very large DIY needlwheel skimmer or go with a Reeflo Orca 250.
The MRC skimmer is a great skimmer, extremely strong and infinately adjstable. It is also expandable. Many people dont like the beckett skimmers because they need attention frequently. This is do to the air intake on the injectors and is an easily fixed issue. For what Ive had and am working on it is more than enough skimmer.
I will be going to a needle wheel design for the big tank for simplicity and I just like the orca! Once a beckett is dialed in they really do an amazing job. Just takes some tinkering compared to others to get dialed.

Beckett definitely wouldnt be for me then. I like the set and leave it alone, needle wheel. I was curious because I planned on using a Dart, which is 3600 gph, the return pump at about 650 gph, my two modded Tunze 6045s, which are estimated at about 1500 gph (1200 gph originaly). And I was thinking of just using an ASM G4 skimmer. not sure if Im going to be BB or not, but Im kinda leaning that way.

I've got a 150, using a EuroReef RS250 (equivalent). Works great, I don't mess with it but a few times a week at most.

What this ER Rs250 equivelant? Are you saying you are using an ER250 thats equivelant to the ASM, or youre using a skimmer thats equivelant to the ER250?
