GBTA split... baby on the move... help fast, please...
I posted the other day that my huge, 16-18 inch GBTA was splitting... well it finished sometime early yesterday and I could see the little baby clearly separate from its Mommy...it stayed in the same rock, different hole all day yesterday and into the night...when I last looked at the tank about 11:30 both were side by side...Well, this morning, I went down for my usual check.. Mommy in same spot, baby GONE!!!! Tank was not cloudy or anything so I figured it did not get chewed up... looked and looked... went around to the fish room to have a look at the back of the tank..(I can view all 4 sides, as this is an inwall) and there way across the tank is baby... under a rock, fully extended, looking fine!!! My question is this... I have 3 SEIOs in the tank... how can I cover them to keep roaming baby anemone safe? Hurry please because I don't know if it will keep moving or likes where it is ...By the way, both anemones appear to be doing very well, Bright green and tentacles flowing, and both appear to be healing up perfectly...
please help...not sure how to cover SEIOS...

I figure you could just cut and wrap some filter material around the seio's where it sucks the water in and put a rubber band around it to hold it in place. It will most like cut down a bit of your flow but it's a temporary quick fix.

I'm not familiar with seio's so not sure exactly. I covered all my intakes with bridal veil and zipties or rubberbands. congrats on the baby!

thanks guy and gals...I like the bridal veil idea Jena! Probably would not cut down on flow too much...you mean like that kindof net stuff right?

Here is one example of using needle point canvas. I personally don't agree with the canvas being right on the intake. The anemone can still get through the tiny openings. It is best to construct something an inch or two away from the intake.

He shouldn't be able to get in where the water comes out just because he won't want to go into that much flow.
I've wrapped filter floss around my Seio's intakes before to take out fine sand particles,.. I bet the same consept would work here.
Congrats on the baby!

This is also what I did and I watched my anenome walk right over it with no damage. The veil gives enough support to prevent any one piece of him being sucked in to the propeller.
