Garlic and food (for fish silly!)
Okay, its time I start to get the garlic going for my fish. How do you all do it? Do you buy fresh garlic and just add some of the oil to the food or what? I know you can buy some food with gralic added but not around here. What methods and in what amounts do you all prep the food?
Thanks!
Robert

I have used Kyolic Garlic Extract available at GNC.
I would put the food in a cup, add few drops of the galic and let it soak
for about 30 minutes

I buy a thingie (wad o' cloves?) of garlic from the produce section (the smaller the cloves, the better, I think).
Each time I wanna feed w/Garlic, I break off a single clove. I peel it good. I then take a knife, slice off just a bit of the ends. Not sure this is necessary, it just seems to break easier when I do this (next step).
next, I take the knife, turn it sideways, place it on top of the clove, and push down cracking/smashing the garlic. I try to only break it open, not pulverise it...as the more solid the piece is, the easier it is to remove later.
Then, using little plastic shot-glasses I got from the party store, I scoop out a shot of water from the fish tank, put whatever food I'm feeding the fish in the shot glass...and finally drop the smashed garlic clove into the water. I let that soak for a good 10-15 minutes. I then remove the garlic clove from the water, and then dump the water/food into the tank. (for food that deteriorates fast, you can soak just the tank water for a while, then after removing the clove, add your food for a minute or two).
All the while I'm doing this, I'm also listening to my wife-to-be complain...as she absolutely loathes the smell of garlic. I also spend a considerable amount of that time thinking how uncomfortable it's going to be sleeping at night with her all the way on the edge of the bed, as far away from me as possible.
(don't get me wrong...we're very loving...but when garlic's involved, you'd think I was a lepper!)

Sorry, a few drops to a cube of frozen food. Basically I just made sure it was all sitting in juice.

Thats new info to me. Back when I researched using garlic the Kyolic was the recommended stuff. That was however a few years ago. If thats the case fresh seems a better way to go.
Be sure to get some pasta and olive oil for the leftover garlic
