Yes, good for regular feeding and great for sick fish. it is an immune system booster. I even take garlic.

it is a very good rumor that it does wonders, but i have not seen any real proof, mostly you will hear side stories of it, i am not saying it is not true.
it should not hurt them at all.

I agree with Tim. No proof. But not DISproved either.

in MY experience, it helps 9 out of 10 times.

just MY experience...

I have read that article but i have arguments with it. especially when you take into account studies that have been done otherwise. The article is somewhat narrow IMO.

I had bad ich once from a fish at the ghetto LFS in the old days. The blue tang died but garlic soaking the food for a week may or may not have been a factor in keeping the other fish alive. That tank recovered.

I agree, it is pretty one sided, but also points out a few things that may be going on while feeding garlic..if i can i will try and do a search for any scientific lit. on it later today..

From the research I have done in the past and my own experience i do have to say that there is a common misconception about garlic. I actually doesn't cure anything, it is an immune system booster. If the fish is too weak to ingest it then they will still usually die. Most scientists are trying to proove black and white where there is a lot of gray area out there. I do have to say i admire your studious nature (tim and tdwyatt) you guys are a great resource to the rest of us!
