future upgrade-lighting questions

well i've finally decided i want to upgrade my system. im going to go with a 265 gallon system, bare-bottomed(first time, joining the club), with a CLS and sump. there are many other questions concerning other matters but right now i want to focus on the lighting.
I wish to keep mostly SPS and some LPS and clams as well as zoas and possibly some ricordea. I know im going to be needing a much more intense light than my PC's.
what do suggest in the ways of a Halide fixture (and what are these new XM bulbs?) what spectrum is best suited for what i want and how much light is needed and any suggestions on what to buy would be greatly appreciated. btw, i'm big on looks and would greatly prefer my tank's look to be white light(a little bluish?) the only reason i bring this up is a LFS has a 265 set up with MH but the tanks is very green? next time i go i'll find out exactly what light he's using. Thanks

XM is a brand of halide bulbs that are well made, put out excellent PAR, and last a long time. For a nice white look, go for the 10K XM bulb. I would probably go with 250 watt bulbs since you are planning on a BB tank, with actinic supplements.

agree with hng. 10k xm's have great par and are white. add actinics if you want a blue tint. You can follow the link in my sig and the first pic is what they look like without actinics.

What are the dimensions of your tank??...depth mostly im curious about
