Fungia Problems


my fungia coral is starting to "go away" in the center/mouth area,,,rest of the tank looks great and doing well. only thing i can think of , that it does not like the light(too bright?) or the current it is in,,,been looking good since i got it about 4 months ago,,,last couple of weeks this started,,,,any ideas???

Hi Jeff! I have one of those as well. It was not doing very well under direct MH lights so I move it toward the left side of the tank about 6" from the side glass and there is medium to heavy current and it seems to be doing better.
My does not have the problem yours does so I don't know if it is in serious trouble or not! Johnny

I've got two species of Fungia in my tank, and I am sorry about yours. I don't know how I would treat that, maybe a bath in an iodine solution would stop the receding tissue. I have both of mine on the top half of the tank, right under 400 watt halides, but I guess it could be different lighting if the change they went through was very drastic. But if it can't "eat" anymore I don't know about it's chances. Sorry
